SmartSolar MPPT 100/20,
Built-in Bluetooth Smart
The wireless solution to configure, monitor, update and synchronize SmartSolar Charge Controllers.
VE.Direct
For data connection via cable to the Color Control GX or other GX devices, to the PC or other devices
Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Especially in cloudy skies, when the light intensity changes continuously, an ultra-fast MPPT controller
will allow you to enhance energy collection up to 30% more than PWM charge controllers and up to 10% more than devices
slower MPPT controllers.
Load output
You can avoid over-discharging the battery by connecting all loads to the load output. The load output will disconnect the load when
the battery has been discharged to a predefined voltage (48 V model: interfaces with a relay).
Alternatively, you can choose an intelligent battery management algorithm: see Battery Life.
The load output is protected against short circuit.
Battery Life: intelligent battery management
When a solar charge controller is unable to charge the battery to its full capacity within a day, it often happens that
the battery continuously switches between the ‘partially charged’ and ‘fully discharged’ states. This operating mode (absence of a
regular full charging) can destroy lead acid batteries within weeks or months.
The BatteryLife algorithm monitors the battery charge status and, if necessary, increases the threshold day by day
load shedding (i.e. disconnects the load early) until the collected solar energy is sufficient to recharge the battery
almost 100% full. From this moment on, the load disconnection threshold will be modulated to achieve charging
complete about once a week.
Programmable battery charging algorithm
Day/night timing and light dimming option
Internal temperature sensor
Compensates absorption and holding voltages based on temperature
External battery voltage and temperature detection via optional Bluetooth
A Smart Battery Detector or a BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor can be used to communicate voltage and battery
battery temperature to one or more SmartSolar Charge Controllers.
Completely discharged battery recovery function
It starts charging even if the battery has been discharged to zero volts.
Reconnects to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery, with built-in disconnect function.
