Carbon-Viesa anti-limescale filter for Holiday evaporative air conditioners

The Carbon-Viesa Filter, developed by ACQUATRAVEL, specialist in water treatment on board recreational vehicles, for VIESA evaporative air conditioners retains foreign substances and impurities downstream of the system and transforms limestone into aragonite supplying purified water to the HOLIDAY unit installed on the roof of the camper.

Acquatravel srl, specialist in water treatment on board recreational vehicles, in collaboration with Vigia Viesa Italy, distributor for Italy of the famous Holiday IIIs evaporative roof air conditioner for campers, presents “Carbon-Viesa”, a new filter for water capable of retaining particles larger than 5 microns and transforming limestone into aragonite, so as to feed the evaporative unit with water totally free of impurities and without limestone.

As many European camper owners know, VIESA systems cool the air introduced into the passenger compartment with a process of evaporation of the water obtained thanks to a special patented evaporative filter made of natural materials. In order to function, they draw water directly from the drinking tank. VIESA has always provided water treatment through an antibacterial product (Calfabas).

With periodic maintenance (annual or biannual) the technicians authorized by VIESA clean the tank and the internal elements of the Holiday with a wash that also eliminates limestone deposits. In fact, if the water introduced into the circuit contains a lot of calcite (calcium carbonate), limescale formations can be created on the walls of the Holiday tank, as happens in home washing machines and dishwashers.

All those campers who use particularly calcareous water or who obtain their supplies from non-conventional water sources where impurities are present will find this new filter particularly interesting. Carbon-Viesa, in fact, is equipped with a magnet capable of transforming calcium into aragonite, a mineral that does not form aggregations and encrustations. Another interesting feature of Carbon-Viesa is the activated carbon and coconut fiber filter capable of retaining any higher particles, thus preventing sand, dust or other elements present in the drinking tank from reaching the VIESA Holiday tank.

The Carbon-Viesa Filter is composed of a fabric casing (pre-filter) and the actual filter combined into a single system which optimizes space and facilitates installation. Periodic maintenance is simple and quick because it is sufficient to replace the fabric casing that contains the activated carbons.

The filter must be installed before the tap of the VIESA system and is used solely to treat the water supplied to the Holiday. Installation can be carried out by any specialized workshop, but if Holiday is under warranty it is necessary to have the Carbon-Viesa Filter recalibrated by an Authorized VIESA Center to prevent it from becoming invalid. The authorized technician will in fact have to certify that the installation has been carried out in a workmanlike manner, that no component of the VIESA system has been altered, that the water flow is correctly sized and that the pressure seal of the system is compliant.
